To see your loans, sign in with your university library account: user number and password. Your user number is the barcode on the back of your Thoska.

You don't need to sign in for the catalogue and reading list. Just tap “Search the catalogue without signing in” in the sign-in window.
Loans and renewals
See what's due soon.
Your loans are sorted by due date, overdue ones at the top. The timeline under each book shows how much of the loan period has passed and how often you've renewed it.
- Colours warn you in time: yellow from 5 days, red from 3 days
- Renew with the button or by swiping left
- If the library declines, you see why right away
How it works

- Tap Renew on the book or swipe the card to the left.
- Confirm – done. The new date shows up right away.

Search without signing in.
Search the holdings of the university library in Ilmenau by title, person, topic or ISBN. Every result shows straight away whether it's on the shelf.

Frequently asked questions
Which credentials do I need?
Those of your account at the university library in Ilmenau: your user number (barcode on the back of your Thoska) and your password.
I forgot my password.
The password belongs to your university library account. You can only reset it with the library, not in the app.
Why do I have to sign in again after every restart?
Because the app deliberately doesn't store your credentials. While the app is running you stay signed in. Once it's closed, everything is gone – it doesn't get safer than that.
Can I reserve books in the app?
Reservations go through the library's website: the “Reserve” button opens it right at the book. Afterwards you'll see the reservation in the app.
Is my reading list in the cloud?
No. Your reading list is stored on your phone only. If you delete the app or switch phones, it's gone.
